“La Sapienza” strikes this reviewer as easily the most astonishing and important movie to emerge from France in quite some time. While its style deserves to be called stunningly original and rapturously beautiful, the film is boldest in its artistic and philosophical implications, which pointedly go against many dominant trends of the last half-century.
What a beautiful movie! La Sapienza could have as subtitle “In Search of the Light”. I am so happy that there are movies out (and you are showing them) with such depths and meaning. To “The treasure of dawn as sapience.” I would add: At the dawn of awakening.
What a masterpiece of art as a movie showing masterpieces of art from ancient times and skillfully played by very talented actors…
Thank you for sharing this movie.
